Prosperous Mountain Lion Dance (PMLD) would like to thank everyone who came to watch and those who requested our performances during Chinese New Year 2009!

We had an extremely enjoyable and busy season. We had the honour of performing for repeat events as well as functions new to us this year.

PMLD achieved a few milestones this year, which included Canberra's very first series of shop blessings along Bunda Street (Civic) and Woolley Street (Dickson) to bring good luck to business in time for Chinese New Year. We received many positive responses and hope we can perform for you again next year so that we can bring more good luck for the new year. Thank you very much to those shops and restaurants for allowing us to perform for you.

We also dotted our fifth (5th) lion for the troupe. Our red fur red hoksan lion, named Phoenix (for his eyes), was dotted prior to the shop blessings at Woolley Street, Dickson. We performed the all important dotting ceremony at the courtyard where we performed our first performance.

PMLD also performed its first Chinese New Year booking for a restaurant performance. Ginger and Spice was booked out for our first performance in the first week of the Chinese New Year. Thank you, Fiona, for inviting us to bless your restaurant and entertain your patrons with our performance!

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to show our sincere appreciation for our hard working fellow troupe members. Their tireless efforts at training and performances truly made this season a memorable time for its fellow members and troupe!

PMLD would also like to thank our biggest supporters and advocates, we are very appreciative of your continued support and can not do it without you:

- Chin Wong (President, ACTCAA)

- Sam Wong (President, CMCF)

- Nic Manikis (Director, Office of Multicultural Affairs)

- Carol Keil (President, ACT China Friendship Society)

- Thich Quang Ba (Head Monk, Lyneham Buddhist Temple)

Now, t's time for PMLD to have abit of R&R. We have moved to a new training venue (University of Canberra) and so now begins our official off-season training!
